My Little Nipper

We ventured out today for "Little Nippers," the new mom and baby group offered at our hospital. It was good to see some other moms and Hayley enjoyed looking at the other babies. She was such a good girl the entire time. Our car ride was so peaceful I had to keep looking back to make sure she was still in the car with me. This is quite the change from the little screamer I had just a week ago. Thinking it was just a fluke, I was even more amazed when she fell asleep and didn't utter a peep the entire drive home. Anyhow, Hayley got to see her boyfriend, Colby (the long-haired boy from Lamaze class) and she enjoyed having so many new faces to look at. She is so alert for her age... she got mad at me as I tried to feed her because all she wanted to do was look around.

While at the hospital I was able to weigh Hayley. She is now up to 9 lbs 7oz and will be 7 weeks tomorrow. She seems to be getting longer rather than wider (although I think I find a new roll on her thighs everytime I bathe her) and is just now starting to fit into some of her 0-3 month clothes.

Brian and I are feeling more and more optimistic each day at how Hayley is responding to being scheduled. She is doing great through the night and we are all feeling so much more rested. I think we are all happier people in general now! :) Hayley is finally learning to self-soothe a little and is becoming more accepting and content when I put her in her swing, etc. I was surprised when she actually fell asleep in the swing today.
