Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I know I certainly did, despite the fact that I spent the day bruised, sore, and worn out. It was AWESOME! My wonderful husband granted me an entire 28 hours of vacation from the call of motherhood which allowed me to head to Orlando for a "girls" evening before an exciting,
early morning race.Friday morning, seven of us loaded up and headed east.

We arrived in time to pick up our race packets at Disney's Wide World of Sports before checking into our hotel and heading straight for the pool. All of us gals are moms to young children and for most of us, this was the first evening we'd had away with girls since having children.

We walked to Downtown Disney for some dinner and more laughs and felt so naughty staying out past 9pm!

Of course we soon regretted staying out past 9pm (or was it the cramming seven girls into one hotel room?) when the all too early 4:45am wake up call came around. But somehow we managed to get our acts together and still look smashingly cute in our uniforms. I think I did a pretty good job pulling off the "Willie Nelson's half brother" look!

After waiting in our corral for over an hour, our wave finally began.

It was time to get dirty! But first, we had to run, bike, crawl, climb, and slide through the seven mile course in the 90 degree heat. And I discovered, that biking? Not so much my thing. This was HARD! But I survived. And my reward? A big, cool pool of mud... the only thing seperating my partner and I from the finish line.

Me and my awesome partner!

And the crazy thing is, I PAID to do this!
