Hide the Checkbook!

Today we headed off to Target again so I could pick up a few "necessities." In fact I even had a list of the "necessities" that I needed to get. I make shopping lists for two reasons. One, so that I won't forget what I am there for (which happens more often then I'd like) and two, so that I only buy what's on my list and thereby keep myself on a budget! One of the things on my list today was a swim diaper for Hayley. Luckily, I was able to quickly find a swim diaper. Of course this is where my "it's not on the list logic" sets in. As I placed the diaper in my basket, I thought to myself, "I can't very well just buy bathing suit bottoms and allow my little girl to run around topless." Good thing there were tops to match the swim diaper and into my basket they go. "But wait, I can't let her be in the pool without sun protection. Oh good, a matching hat!" And into my basket it goes. As I look into my basket I tell myself, "I'll just take them home and show Brian and then maybe I can return the hat or the top," knowing good and well that once I get home and put this on her there is NO way I'm taking them back. And so, Hayley now has a full swim set and is ready for a dip in the pool at all times! Reasoning while shopping, particularly while shopping for Hayley is going to be very, very dangerous for me!

They're only tiny for a short time! Hey, to validate your decision, I think it's much better to be a little indulgent while they're still too young to realize you're doing it---it would be far more detrimental later in her life. So buy those adorable bathing suits, and take all the pictures you can!
