Four Generations

We said a hard good-bye to our visitors (Mimi, Grandpa and Great Grams) today as they headed back to Colorado. We had a very good visit and they all got to experience tropical storm Alberto! I think this was a good experience for them as it helped them to realize how much the news can really exaggerate these storms!

We spent a lot of time at the house as Hayley has still not quite mastered the art of a car ride. She usually screams herself tired for the first 5 to 10 minutes of the ride. Somehow we have to get over this because Mommy cannot be homebound for much longer! I thought babies were
supposed to be soothed by car rides?

Anyhow, it was wonderful for me to see my grandmother holding her new great granddaughter. I know I am truly lucky to be able to have a picture like this and for Hayley to know that she got to meet her wonderful Great Grandma who has been and continues to be a very special person in her Mommy's life. Hayley is a lucky little girl to have such wonderful grandparents, aunts, and uncles in her life that care about her so much!

So now as visits from friends and family start to slow down it seems that it is time for Brian, Hayley, Chloe, and I to return to our daily life as a new family. Hayley will be 3 weeks old in just 2 days and it already feels like we have had her forever.
She is changing so much each day and is starting to outgrow the preemie outfits and move into the newborn clothes that were huge on her when we first brought her home. It's kind of sad to think about how fast she will grow and change and we are trying to enjoy each moment right now (even when she is upset at 3am)!

Speaking of Chloe... life has been rough. Like any first born, she hasn't been too happy about losing her status as an only child. She is slowly starting to warm up to Hayley and I'm looking forward to the time when they are the best of friends.

Wow, Shelley, you look fabulous, and I must comment on how young your mother and grandmother look! That picture is priceless of the 4 generations. Thanks for keeping us updated on your life, and Hayley's! Will we get to meet her soon?

Thanks Steph! My Mom and Grandma would be flattered! I must admit... I'm awfully proud of my Grandma and can only hope to look as good and be as sharp as she is at her age. As far as meeting Hayley... I'd love to get a trip planned to Texas soon... Brian and I both have really been missing the place!
