We have a fear. We're afraid that fear may be our reality. Our fear is the "C" word... yes, that's right, COLIC! For the past few nights, Hayley has been utterly unconsolable. Yes, I've read Dr. Karp's book and those tricks had worked great until Friday night when we reached a point that we could do nothing to satisfy Hayley. Since Friday, we have been trying every trick imaginable to pacify our little doll whose new nickname is now "Lungs."On Saturday we took "Lungs" down to her Nana and Papa's so we could run to Target in search of the Soothie pacifier that I was convinced would solve all of Hayley's problems. The Soothie worked great for the first 30 minutes and then the unhappiness returned.
Yesterday we discovered Hayley's interest in country music. Seems one way to soothe her is to dance around to only country. I'm dumbfounded as to how this happened. I played Mozart for her in the womb... NEVER country! Brian thinks it is amusing... I'm terrified her first words are going to be "honky tonk!"
We went for our first stroller walk today. It was a little rough at first, but after she got the feel for it she quit fussing and seemed to actually enjoy the walk. We're going to start going for some long walks in the mornings as Mommy needs some fresh air, exercise, and time out of the house. We are definitely looking forward to the time when we can begin jogging again.
So tonight we're going to give another new purchase a go. It's the Amazing Miracle Blanket and I'm hoping it really will work a miracle. We've been swaddling Hayley since Day 1, but the little Houdini always seems to break free and wake herself up. I'll be sure to report back our reviews!

Oh, goodness. (shudder, shudder). I'm afraid to say, I have no advice in this area. Only, don't jump to the "C" conclusion quite yet...I found that we'd often have days of fussiness that afterwards proved to just be something as simple as a growth spurt. (Or later, teething, etc.) Wishing the best!
So??? Any miracles yet?
